On July 23rd, after a rain shower, the sun shone brightly over the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The first Thailand International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition was grandly opened at IMPACT Exhibition Center, the largest exhibition center in Thailand, with numerous guests, exhibitors and visitors filled with joy and anticipation. A total of over 130 enterprises from around the world participated in the exhibition, and more than 5,000 visitors entered the exhibition hall on the first morning.

The Thailand International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition was jointly organized by the China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association, the China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, the China Agricultural Mechanization Association, and the Thailand Agricultural Machinery Engineering Association over the course of a year with great effort. It is the first large-scale professional exhibition of China's agricultural machinery industry held overseas. This is not only a landmark step for China's agricultural machinery industry to go global, but also a milestone in the upgrading of agricultural cooperation between China and Thailand, which will inject new impetus into the modernization process of Thai agriculture. The arrival of this historic moment is not only due to the joint efforts of agricultural colleagues from both countries, but also embodies the trust and expectations of the international community for China's agricultural machinery industry. Thailand, as a major agricultural country, has vast fields with unlimited development potential, and the vigorous demand of the agricultural machinery market needs the empowerment of high-quality technology. Jianhua FAN said in his speech that after decades of hard work, China's agricultural machinery industry has built a complete system from research and development to manufacturing, and has produced a large number of leading and high-quality products in fields such as tractors, harvesters, planting machinery, and plant protection machinery, which are solid supports for the modernization of agriculture in various countries. This exhibition is not only a showcase of China’s agricultural machinery technology achievements, but also a bridge - we look forward to using the exhibition as a link to promote the technological exchange, experience sharing and trade cooperation between Chinese and Thai agricultural machinery enterprises and those from ASEAN countries, ultimately achieving mutual benefit and win-win development. The core concept of “technology rooted, industrial upgraded, and farmers benefited" is our original intention: we not only want to bring more efficient agricultural machinery equipment to local farmers, but also introduce advanced production concepts to promote the overall improvement of regional agricultural mechanization levels, and at the same time assist the development of Thailand's local agricultural machinery industry and create more jobs.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. Over the past 50 years, the two countries have achieved fruitful results in agricultural cooperation. Choosing to hold the exhibition at this time and place is not only a deep tribute to the friendship between China and Thailand, but also a beautiful vision for future cooperation. Wei JIANG said in his speech that under the impetus of the “Belt and Road” initiative, China’s agricultural machinery industry is actively participating in the global agricultural modernization. This exhibition is a timely step in response to the agricultural production practices and vigorous demand of the agricultural machinery market in China and Thailand. It is a showcase for China’s agricultural machinery technology achievements to go global and a great platform for promoting exchanges and cooperation among agricultural machinery industry in China, Thailand and ASEAN countries, and achieving win-win development. It is believed that with the deepening of cooperation in the agricultural machinery field between China and Thailand in the future, it will bring more efficient concepts, technologies and equipment to Thai farmers, promote the overall improvement of regional agricultural mechanization levels, and at the same time assist the development of Thailand’s local agricultural machinery industry and create more jobs.

Pattharapong Songchuenya praised China for having a modern and diversified industrial system for agricultural machinery and equipment production, covering all links of the supply chain from farming to processing. In her speech, she said that China’s innovative technologies can be effectively applied to Thailand’s agriculture, and this exhibition is an excellent opportunity to achieve it. It not only showcases the latest agricultural machinery from leading global manufacturers, including smart agriculture, precision agriculture, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, but also holds academic seminars with experts and agricultural technology developers from around the world, as well as business matching sessions to promote international business network connections. This reflects the outstanding cooperation between Thailand and China in agricultural machinery technology and knowledge sharing, and also builds a platform for promoting cooperation and development in the agricultural machinery industry in Asia, ultimately contributing to the well-being and prosperity of farmers in Thailand and Asia.

To achieve the exhibition’s expectation, the organizers have meticulously planned a series of activities: collaborating with the Thai Farmers Association to conduct business activities, facilitating precise connections between exhibitors and local distributors, farms, and farmers to achieve seamless integration of technology and demand; holding an analysis and investment forum of the Thai agricultural machinery market to deeply explore market potential and build a dialogue platform for international and Thai enterprises to cooperate in factory establishment and long-term development, promoting in-depth investment of Chinese enterprises in Thailand; organizing visits to Thai farms, factories, and distribution outlets to lay a solid foundation for long-term cooperation. In addition, the organizers have invited international buyers from over ten countries in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific, which not only helps exhibitors expand their markets but also promotes the joint expansion of Chinese and Thai agricultural machinery enterprises into Southeast Asia, achieving market win-win.

At the exhibition, the booths of each exhibitor were surrounded by crowds of visitors. The staff of the exhibitors communicated with the visitors in fluent Thai or English. Long CHEN, who in charge of World Agricultural Machinery (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said that World Agricultural Machinery focuses on the overseas market and accelerates its overseas strategic layout. It has planned or already established research and development bases in many countries. In Thailand, it has invested a total of 3.4 billion Thai baht in the construction of bases. He thanked the organizers for providing a high-quality platform for showcasing innovative achievements and exchanging cooperation ideas, and stated that whether in China or around the world, World Agricultural Machinery will continue to focus on “intelligence”, deepen “greening”, and expand “service”. The representative of Hunan Nongyou Machinery Co., Ltd. said that the company’s water field-related machinery and dryers are very suitable for the local working conditions in Thailand. Previously, it has achieved remarkable results in exports to Southeast Asia. This exhibition is sure to bring even greater progress. Many Thai media covering the exhibition said that this exhibition is of high standards, large scale, many exhibitors, and precise and effective audience organization. It is one of the best agricultural machinery exhibitions held in Thailand so far. They believe that the friendly relations between China and Thailand are the foundation for the successful holding of this exhibition. The agricultural machinery from China is highly compatible with the local agricultural production conditions in Thailand, and its cost-performance advantage can attract local farmers. The audience invitation for this exhibition is very precise, and most of the visitors are farmers or cooperative organizations with actual needs, ensuring the exhibition effect. In addition, many groups of visitors from other countries also visited the exhibition and expressed that they were satisfied.

He revealed that the three associations will continue to hold the CIAME ASIA exhibition in Southeast Asia in the future. Jianhua FAN also stated that in three months, the largest in Asia and world-renowned China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition will open in Wuhan on October 26th. At that time, nearly 3,000 outstanding exhibitors from around the world will gather together.
